THE QUEEN Njinga Angola Coin Necklace features a bust ofQUEEN Njinga Ana de Sousa. Queen Njinga (alt Nzinga) was born into a royal family and received military and political training as a child. She was a gifted negotiator who diffused political crises during her role as Ambassador to the Portuguese Empire. Njinga became Queen of Ndongo upon the death of her father and brother in 1624 and Matamba in 1631. The two Kingdoms are found in the region of modern-day Angola. Queen Nzinga is recognized as a powerful military leader, wise negotiator & politician, thwarting many colonial advances during her reign. THE QUEEN Njinga Angola Coin Necklace is handcrafted based on an authentic Angolan coin using the traditional lost-wax casting technique.
Available in: Sterling Silver, 18K Gold Vermeil (18K Gold over Sterling Silver), Solid 10K, 14K, and 18K Gold.
Made with fairly sourced African gold and recycled and conflict-free fine metals.
